This company is a leading expert in the provision of specialist services, working across multiple sectors they support their customers with a range of solutions deployed across both the UK and Europe. They have grown significantly in recent years via both acquisition and organic expansion which has enabled them to approach £100m turnover. A well-established and industry respected management team is in place and the finance department is led by an award winning CFO. A recent review of the structure has identified the need to appoint a talented Finance Analyst to deliver accurate financial data and provide the rest of the business with financial analysis and decision support. This will therefore be a superb role for someone looking to have real input and influence with senior management and make a valuable contribution. The ideal candidate for this vacancy would be a finalist or recently qualified CIMA/ACCA accountant with commercial acumen and strong Excel / reporting skills. The key duties for this position will include:

  • Communicating with various teams to pull together budgets and forecasts
  • Detailed analysis of operating margins with suggestions for improvement
  • Liaise with commercial team on contract performance
  • Overhead review with commentary for board back
  • Assist with month end with ownership of sales and margin reporting
  • Reviewing other reports and providing commentary
  • Liaise with Power BI team to reconcile against actual figures and resolve issues
  • Reconciliation between systems to ensure accuracy and investigate variances
  • Regularly review forecasts to ensure projections are correct
  • Consolidate UK & European reports
  • Support the annual audit and any M&A activity

A key part of this role will require advanced Excel skills to present and analyse raw data to various users. A high degree of comfort with different IT packages and systems will therefore be an essential component of the ideal candidate skill set, knowledge of SAGE 200 would also be advantageous. The role will involve plenty of liaison with commercial and operational teams to build confidence in the numbers, you will also get regular exposure with the CFO and other members of the senior management team. This excellent opportunity would suit an ambitious individual with strong analytical and reporting skills along with the ability to communicate confidently at all levels within a business.
