Market and Client Insights (MCI) is a corporate function serving all Willis Towers Watson geographies, segments and corporate functions. Our mission is to provide research and insights regarding markets, clients, prospects, industries and competitors to drive revenue growth through more effective sales, marketing, and innovation. The team provides a range of services from information access and delivery (utilizing a number of 3rd-party research subscriptions and WTW proprietary research and data) to primary and secondary research for more complex requests requiring multiple sources and potentially multiple methodologies. Key deliverables include market assessments, company and industry profiles, competitor and competitive analyses, market trend reports, and prospect lists.

The Role
  • Work closely with MCI leadership delivering strategic research projects
  • Respond to regular and varied research requests from internal clients, identifying relevant sources of information, synthesizing findings, and deciding on the most appropriate delivery format
  • Works collaboratively with the entire MCI team to help define, maintain, and deliver research projects that support business goals and objectives
  • Supports the end-to-end delivery of high-quality projects, agreeing on scope and timelines with stakeholders, supporting more junior colleagues, and reviewing work produced by our offshore team
  • Liaises with key stakeholders across all Willis Towers Watson geographies and businesses as appropriate
  • Responsible for overall subscription and supplier management for all MCIs global research tools and sources
  • Work closely with Procurement and Legal teams to procure appropriate data and information resources to meet business needs, achieving maximum investment efficiency
  • Oversee the day-to-day subscription management delivered via one direct report
  • Line management responsibility for one direct report
  • Support the development of more junior colleagues by working collaboratively and providing guidance and support as appropriate

The Requirements
  • Experience in a similar role, utilizing a wide range of research tools, techniques, and data sources
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, setting clear milestones and meeting deadlines
  • Experience with vendor and budget management
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to work with stakeholders, collaborate with colleagues, and fulfill business needs
  • Strong research and analytical skills with demonstrated ability to analyse and visualise data to deliver compelling stories
  • The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, a desire to learn about different businesses, and experience in research (B2B) / financial or professional services or related field
  • Foundational knowledge of the elements of business and market strategy, and the ability to apply to market and company research to generate insights and recommendations
  • High level of attention to detail and focus on accuracy
  • Self-starter capable of proactive investigation and analysis
  • Team player capable of working in the best interests of the firm
  • IT & systems literate
