An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to become part of the PDI & Quality Gate team to support the Shrewsbury Strategy. The primary focus of this position will be working as an inspector in the PDI area, with the ability to support the Quality Gate requirements and manage flows in volume and output. The key objective is to support Caterpillar's drive for ZERO defects forward to customer. Working closely with the Quality & Production teams, you will be responsible for verification of assembled products, reporting faults found in line with Built In Quality (BIQ) and assisting with problem resolution. Whilst also ensuring outbound product is consolidated and transacted in-line with business test cell activity and shipment plans. This position reports to the team leader of the Test and EFD department. Key Responsibilities: Undertake Pre-Delivery Inspection for Engines / Transmissions and Components. Undertake Quality Gate Inspection for Engines / Transmissions and Components. Support Transmission Flow Bench activity. Ensure process conformity to PDI & Quality Gate procedures. Data input to electronic databases and use of tablets. Predominantly QAD-EE & AQE. Use of BIQ reporting and sentencing of faults. Support Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) and Stop to Fix meetings. Provide timely feed-back to area Team Leaders. Various torque tooling checks to ensure items are calibrated. Have ownership of the working area (maintaining 5S & cleanliness is essential). Qualifications/Experience: Desirable: Work on own initiative, autonomous, organised, systematic, tidy, and know when to escalate issues. Ability to plan, organise and prioritise a varied range of work. Self-motivated and an excellent team player. Passion for Customer Satisfaction. Ability to escalate issues as necessary. Understanding of basic data analysis (Pareto). Safe use of lifting equipment inc cranes and slings. Understanding of Manufacturing Processes. Ability to drive on-site vehicles; Counter-Balance Forklift, A1 & A2 pedestrian trucks. Qualifications/Experience: Essential: Knowledge of business systems QAD-EE (maintenance screens), AQE & Outlook. Previous experience working within manufacturing environment
