Product Support Engineer

Role Purpose: Provide in-service technical support to Prime Contractors, Airline Operators and Aftermarket for UTAS Wolverhampton Equipment including in-service problem resolution and the development of system-level trouble shooting. Also responsible for providing support during the New Product Introduction (NPI) phase. Key Responsibilities Working under the guidance and direction of the Principal Product Support Engineer and Aftermarket Engineering Manager, the Product support Engineer provides technical support during the in-service phase. Key activities include: Providing technical advice to Prime Contractors, Aircraft Operators and Aftermarket Monitoring of in-service reliability and identification of fault trends Providing support towards timely resolution of in-service problems Providing support towards development of System-level trouble-shooting Preparation and delivery of training material as required (e.g. to A/C Operators) Providing assistance to Technical Publications Team to ensure accurate technical content of CMMs, SBs etc. Providing assistance to Aftermarket as required (e.g. development of Repair Schemes, use of Rotable Parts etc.) Providing support during New Product Introduction phase (e.g. ILS / LSA, Maintainability, In-Service Readiness Planning, Direct Maintenance Costs etc.) Providing technical support to the Customer Response Centre Skills and Experience Preferably a mechanical or electrical engineering background with some or all of the following attributes: Knowledge of Hydro-mechanical, Electro-mechanical and pneumatic systems and products Knowledge of Highlift / Nacelle Actuation / Military systems and the ability to resolve system issues A good standard of computer literacy using industry wide software packages Good statistical and analytical skills Understanding of the general engineering process An ability to think on a global level with regard to the impact of product changes Knowledge of ILS/LSA Ability to be able to represent the Company in technical reviews with customer.
