RN / Public Health / Virginia / Permanent / PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE - COMMUNITY SERVICES (BILINGUAL) Job

Arlington County's Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking an experienced Public Health Nurse for the Community Health Services Bureau in the Public Health Division. The programs in this Bureau provide a full range of services to improve and maintain the overall health of pregnant women and both women and men of childbearing age desiring family planning methods. Services include testing for HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases as well as providing medications through the Virginia Aids Drug Assistance program (ADAP).Duties include: Providing nursing care in the clinical setting as a member of a multidisciplinary team; Working in all clinics, Family Planning, Maternity, STI, HIV, ADAP, Immunizations, and Teen clinic; Giving immunizations in Open Immunization Clinics as well as other clinics; Providing case management and care coordination of an assigned caseload; Supporting the clinic coordinators by providing medical follow-up for clients as needed; Maintaining appropriate records and documentation to meet local, state and federal requirements; Providing health education to clients, families and the community; and Participating in home visits, outreach opportunities and emergency preparedness activities.
