Senior Management Accountant

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Management Accountant to join the finance department of a highly respected Practice Firm, with a great reputation based near High Wycombe. Responsibilities: Provide accounting and corporation tax services to clients accurately and to budget and time deadlines Undertake efficient and accurate bookkeeping in respect of client's accounting records. Prepare client's VAT returns with a high level of technical understanding and ensure deadlines are met. Prepare client's management accounts including relating working papers to a high degree of accuracy with a view meeting monthly/quarterly deadlines. Support and mentor Accounts Assistants within the department including reviewing their work. Respond to ad hoc client requests in respect of their financial affairs in a timely manner. Build solid and trusting relationships with clients and staff. Collating client's accounting records. Posting client's accounting transactions into accounting software. Reviewing transactions to confirm their VAT treatment. Preparing VAT returns and related workings. Preparing management accounts and financial statements working papers to evidence accurate financial results. Making appropriate accounting adjustments for the purposes of management accounts and financial statements. Preparing financial statements under Financial Reporting Standards and UK GAAP. Preparing and reviewing corporation tax returns and entries. Provide technical support to clients when required.Requirements: AAT qualified or studying towards a professional qualification (ACCA/CIMA) or Qualified by experience Experience in a similar practice based role preferred Proficient with Xero accounting software Experience using Sage, Quickbooks, CCH preferred Proven experience preparing monthly/quarterly management accounts and supporting schedules with high level of detail. Advanced VAT knowledge including partial exemption, land & property, imports, foreign transactions etc. Proven bookkeeping experience and good client services skillset. Good awareness of other aspects of OMB taxation (corporation tax, employment and personal taxes) Exceptional level of personal organisation, and a proven ability to manage own time and deadlines Exceptional technical competence and experience Demonstrate strong analytical and logical skills Technically up to date with awareness of relevant legislation Unquestionable integrity, with excellent communication skills and a flexible, adaptable and committed attitude Ability to work well within a highly professional team environment.
